Sunday 19th July saw the Learmonth & District Historical Society hold our Annual General Meeting.

In a change from previous years the meeting was moved to a Sunday afternoon at our home in the Old Shire Hall Complex.

Long serving treasurer, Steve Corp, stepped down necessitating the election of a new look committee. Desley Beechey and Lois Keating retained their roles of President and Secretary. David Spenceley moved from Vice-president to Treasurer with Ruth Nelson taking on the Vice-presidents role.

Guest speaker, Joan Hunt, President of the Ballarat Genealogical Society, enthralled the gathering with her entertaining presentation on the use of coroner's and fire inquests to research local history.

The afternoon concluded with an afternoon tea.
